Maria Nørholm Ramouk er billedkunstner med base i København, som primært arbejder i Danmark og Marokko. Med sin familiehistorie som udgangspunkt for sit kunstneriske arbejde, undersøger Ramouk, hvordan ressourcer påvirker de fællesskaber vi identificerer os med samt hvordan disse grupper internt er organiseret. Ramouk er optaget af, hvordan sociale sammenhænge, social arv, ressourcer og kulturelle forhold er nært beslægtede. Ensomhed samt at finde tryghed i fællesskaber og gentagelser, er nogle af de emner, der går igen i Ramouks værkproduktion. Arbejdet præsenteres som oftest i medier som performance, tekst og installation.

Maria Nørholm Ramouk primarily work in Denmark and Morocco. Focusing on her Moroccan-Amazigh heritage as point of departure, Ramouk examine how resources affect the communities we identify with and how this is reflected in their internal social organization. Ramouk is concerned with the interrelation between social/economic contexts, social heritage, social/economic resources and cultural relations. Recurring subject-matters are loneliness, finding security in communities and repetition. Works are most often presented as plant dyed textile installations which facilitate and invite into rooms of contemplation, conversation and tactility.
